Kaapschehoop Horse Trails

|
Want to do something different? Head off into the wilderness on horseback in true cowboy style. The Kaapschehoop Horse Trails with its well-schooled horses and competent trail guides help to make this a remarkable experience through lush indigenous vegetation, forest areas and open grass plains. On the horse trails, there is a variety of small game and various bird species, including the endangered blue swallow. For a lifetime experience while on horseback, you may get close and personal with the wild horses of Kaapschehoop.
Apart from travelling through a beautiful mountainous environment, visitors have the opportunity to spend time in the historical Kaapschehoop village, which is set between massive detached sandstone rocks on the plateau.

Florence Hill Forest Hideout
|
|
Relax in the quiet forest environment of Kaapschehoop, far out on the plantation, with only the wild horses, bird song or the sizzle of a coffee kettle on the fire to disturb you.
Get there by foot, mountain bike or on horse back over a 15 km easy terrain. Too lazy? Then drive there by 4X4 and go sit on the veranda or lie in a hammock enjoying a book of your choice. Transport for hikers’ or bikers’ luggage can be arranged.
Three bedrooms (two sleeping double or twin beds and one room with six beds), an inside bathroom with bath and toilet and an outside bathroom with two showers and one separate toilet, all with hot water from gas heaters, are available. The fully equipped kitchen, with gas stove, large gas fridge and warm water from a gas heater and crockery, caters for 12 people.
