Entabeni Overnight Hiking Trail

This hiking trail will not disappoint you. It has majestic, 66-year-old redwood trees and various highlights, such as the Klein Australia Peak, Vera's Peak and the Mathivha Peak, to provide you with magnificent views of the surrounding areas. Hikers will also see the impressive Ebbe Dam, which is a popular bass fishing spot. Soutpansberg Overnight Hiking Trail

This hiking trail is in the northernmost mountain range of South Africa. The Soutpansberg range is formed from Karoo sediments and lava that were deposited here by glaciers about 2000 million years ago. Our Stone Age ancestors left their implements in the Soutpansberg and the skeletal remains of the ancient 'ape man' (Australopithecus) were found in the Makapan caves near Mokopane, 175 km west of the Soutpansberg. There are about 400 bird species to look out for while on the Soutpansberg-Limpopo Birding Route. Read more....

Magoebaskloof Overnight Hiking Trail

This trail has it all – beautiful scenery and an interesting history. It is difficult to believe that this area was once the battleground of two warring chiefs and it is here that Arthur Keble Eastwood planted the Eucalyptus grandis, which is among the tallest planted trees in the southern hemisphere today. Fanie Botha Overnight Hiking Trail

With its naturally formed swimming pools and beautiful views over the Sabie valley, this trail is one of the most popular hikers' destinations in South Africa. Hike up to Mount Moodie to get a breathtaking view of the Sabie Valley. The trail boasts, among other things, two national monuments, namely the 68 metre high Lone Creek Falls and the 65 metre high Mac Mac Falls. Prospector's Overnight Hiking Trail

The name of this trail already gives a hint of what you can expect on this route, which is not only a hiking trail but also a living museum; if history fascinates you, this trail is for you. Get an idea of what life was like for the diggers while you peep inside a replica of their tents or look around the wattle trees for remnants of their tools and utensils. Not only is the history of this trail fascinating, but the surrounding scenery is magnificent. Uitsoek Overnight Hiking Trail

This trail takes you from the foothills of the Drakensberg to the Escarpment and back. Although your legs may sometimes protest against the challenge of this trail, keep your eyes wide open so as not to miss the beautiful plant and animal life around you. Kaapschehoop Overnight Hiking Trail

This is the stuff that hiking trails should be made of – streams, cliffs, valleys, an indigenous forest and wild horses! The wild horses of Kaapschehoop are one of the few remaining wild herds in South Africa and these beautiful creatures add an element of mystery to the trail. The trail takes you along the village with its striking Victorian architecture and many interesting shops. The trail also has the largest single known population of blue swallows in southern Africa with a patch of grassland that has been set aside specifically for the protection of their habitat.
